There is only one left near me and when I went there last, it was a ghost town.

They still had a great steak sandwich though. It's near a Home Depot how is this failing?

Price. Subway is way cheaper and most people prefer it.

I love Quiznos and will mourn their demise. But it's self perpetuated.

Due to falling profits they raised the franchising fees to the point of pushing a lot of their storefronts out of business.

I also greatly prefer Quiznos, but the pricing sucked. Honestly, if I did break down in front of a Subway I *would* walk a block to a Quiznos because Subway sucks and, although cheaper, is overpriced.

Only one in my area closed down ages ago. Blimpy's all over are closing, too.

one quiznos closed down in my area. it was replaced by an independent sandwich store so I'm guessing the same owners just found the franchising fees not to be worth it

I'm not surprised. I can't speak for every market, but the sandwiches are way smaller now than they were 10 years ago, the bread looks half the width... It's better than Subway by a mile, but their marketing is poor and their portions feel stingy now. I assume they did this to avoid raising prices, but I'd honestly rather pay an extra dollar or two to get a better meal. Just do a value menu for the cheapskates or poor people. I used to eat there anywhere from once a week to once a month. The last time I had a Quiznos sub was probably 2015... Maybe even 2014.

Another problem I had that was isolated to a particular store was getting long black hair in two subs on separate occasions from the closest location to where I live. The only other ones were on the other side of the city and not worth the trip when I have a ton of closer options. Aside from which, my wife doesn't like it and prefers Subway, which is literally a few blocks from the house...

They have a conveyor belt of heat. I'm willing to pay that extra buck for a toasty sandwich.

I have my own drink and chips if I want them.

The last one within 200 miles closed here because the landlords wanted a 40% increase in rent. There's no way they could absorb it. I miss the place.

It's a Jersey Mike's now, which I need to get around to trying.

The only Quiznos I know got turned into an Asian dessert restaurant about a year ago. I couldn't even tell you where to find one now, and fast food is all I eat.
The saddest restaurant closure nearby for me (though I since moved thousands of miles away anyway) was the Dickey's BBQ Pit that used to be a street over from where I lived.

Yeah, the Quiznos near my former work closed down a while ago and that was a little disappointing. I grew to like them a lot more than Subway, and I think their prices are comparable. Subway has gotten a lot more expensive since they did away with $5 footlongs while AFAIK Quiznos prices generally stayed the same. Subway is only good value if you want a fairly large quantity of food.

There are still plenty of good sub chains, but I haven't found one yet that specializes in toasted subs.

There is one one schlotsky's left near me and their sandwiches are all like $8 and not very big

They are still worth it though

Subway's quality has dropped too much for me to eat there. It was kind of acceptable when they did $4 or $5 footlongs, but now that they've driven all the better quality sandwich shops out of business, they raised it back to $6.

I haven't been to one in years, because most have closed near me, so it's out of the way for me to go. Their clubs are still one of my favorite subs.

I like Quiznos, but they have been closing down one by one. I don't think I've seen one in my area for a few years now.

It's a south-eastern chain of grocery stores. Why it's mentioned here is anybody's guess, since I can't even remember them having a deli.

I just realized that a number of years ago there was a quiznos near me, they must have shut down a long time ago and I completely forgot that they existed.

they do, and I'm pretty sure every grocery store I've ever been in had a deli, save for some rare local ones.

One thing I never liked about Quiznos is the lack of choice.

With Subway it is all out in the open you get to pick but quiznos everything is blocked off and it feels awkward asking to add/remove stuff

Wild guess— you found a Publix hair in your sandwich.

I've only eaten there a couple of times, but it was pretty good. The Quizno's where I live closed several years ago.

Quizno's is nasty and expensive. Local places are way better. You pay about the same and they are better. Even Subway is better.

My favorite sub place is called Cheba Hut. I think it's only in the southwest though.

I only went there like 3 times in my life, the sub was stale and terrible every time and it was almost twice as expensive as subway, so I just never went back.

I haven't been to Quiznos for a long time.

The food there is good, but it's expensive. And it was the price that kept me from going there very often, could get a meal at a restaurant for that price.

They do and they make fresh subs in the deli just like Subway and other sub shops.

And yes, they're the best. It's the bread. I don't know what they put in that bread, but it's f***ing good. I'd eat a poop sandwich if it were on that bread.
